This Paul McCobb desk for the Planner Group line by Winchendon Furniture is a paradigm of American Mid-Century Modern design. Circa 1950, it features a maple wood construction. The desk’s double pedestal base is balanced and functional, with one side housing three drawers and a pull-out writing extension, while the other boasts two larger drawers, including a file cabinet for essential documents.
The desk is distinguished by its solid brass "golf tee" hardware, a design choice that exemplifies McCobb's attention to detail and quality. Resting on four elegantly tapered legs, the desk's thoughtful proportions and clean lines make it a timeless piece for both work and home environments.
As a classic piece from the Planner Group line, this desk embodies the simplicity and durability that McCobb's designs are celebrated for. It would make a versatile and stylish addition to any contemporary space, honoring the legacy of 1950s modernism while meeting the practical needs of today's use.
