This 1972 Curtis Jere metal wall sculpture is a captivating example of brutalist design, created by the renowned duo Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels, the artistic minds behind the Curtis Jere name. This mid-century modern piece depicts seagulls and sailboats at the dock, crafted from solid welded steel and copper with striking gold foiling accents. The geometric sailboats and soaring birds are arranged within a dynamic dock structure, capturing a rugged yet serene coastal scene.
The sculpture has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, adding to its vintage charm. However, if the buyer prefers, it can be polished before delivery to restore some of its original luster. Equipped with two hooks for wall mounting, this piece can also be displayed freestanding, offering versatility in its presentation. This exceptional sculpture exemplifies Curtis Jere’s blend of artistry and craftsmanship, making it a timeless addition to any modern or vintage-inspired space.
Note: this piece will ship as pictured. If you desire it to be polished before delivery, please let us know at time of purchase.
