This 1960s pair of Specialty Woodcraft nightstands carries the maker's sculpted diamond motif at bedside scale. On each walnut case, a sliding door is carved with a raised diamond outline whose points flare at the top and bottom, framing the figured walnut grain at its center. Two wide drawers sit beside the door with long, dark slotted pulls that draw strong horizontal lines against the vertical diamond, and tapered, splayed legs set on a shaped base frame lift each case and keep the pair looking light.
The sliding door closes over an open cubby at one end of each case. Slide it across the drawer fronts and the cubby opens up for books, magazines, or a basket; slide it back and the front closes into a clean panel of diamond and drawers. The two drawers run on metal slides and hold the small things you want close at hand at night. The cases are built as mirror images, so the diamonds and cubbies can sit at the outer ends of the pair for a balanced look on either side of a bed.
These nightstands are in vintage as-pictured condition, showing wear consistent with age and use including surface wear, finish inconsistencies, and minor imperfections throughout. These characteristics contribute to the original vintage appeal and authenticity that many collectors appreciate. For those looking for a fully refinished pair, we also offer a restored option. Restoration includes a complete professional refinishing process with sanding, staining, glazing, toning, and lacquering, along with functional adjustments to ensure all drawers and sliding doors operate smoothly and the nightstands are ready for everyday use.
