This set of six vintage dining chairs from Pulaski’s sought-after Oceanic collection embodies the bold lines and sculptural presence that defined the Brutalist design movement of the 1960s. Each chair features a tall arched back framed in warm wood with inset woven cane panels, creating a striking interplay of texture and lightness. The subtly curved arms on the two armchairs add comfort and visual rhythm, balancing the sleek profile of the four side chairs.
The craftsmanship highlights Pulaski’s mid-century approach to Brutalist style: substantial wood frames softened by elegant curves, and a design language that bridges organic form with architectural structure. The warm tones of the wood and the airy transparency of the caned backs make these chairs versatile enough to pair with a variety of dining tables while still serving as stand-alone statement pieces.
The original black vinyl upholstery is in excellent vintage condition, offering durability and ease of care. Buyers may choose to purchase the chairs “vintage as-pictured” (professionally cleaned with light touch-ups while retaining the original vinyl), or opt for “vintage restored” service, which includes refinishing and professional reupholstery. For the reupholstered option, the client will be responsible for purchasing and providing the fabric of their choice, allowing complete customization to suit their space.
