Mastercraft for Daniel Jones Inc. Two Piece Burl China Cabinet

This 1960s two piece china cabinet, attributed to Mastercraft and made for Daniel Jones Inc. of New York City, is clad almost entirely in richly figured burl. Four burl doors across the base are mounted with large brass escutcheon pulls in an Asian inspired design, and the case stands on straight squared legs. The top of the base is laid in a diamond matched veneer, and the hutch above pairs two glass center doors with solid burl doors on each side, finished with angled front corners and a crisp cornice.

Behind the base doors, one side holds a stack of three drawers for flatware and linens while the other opens to a shelved cabinet for serving pieces. The hutch opens to tall shelving across its full width, with the center glass doors putting china or collected pieces on display. Daniel Jones Inc. was a prominent New York City furniture retailer that commissioned custom pieces from manufacturers, and its label remains inside a drawer, while the build and styling point to Mastercraft as the maker.

This china cabinet is in vintage as-pictured condition, showing wear consistent with age and use including surface wear, finish inconsistencies, and minor imperfections throughout. These characteristics contribute to the original vintage appeal and authenticity that many collectors appreciate. For those looking for a fully refinished example, we also offer a restored option. Restoration includes a complete professional refinishing process with sanding, staining, glazing, toning, and lacquering, along with functional adjustments to ensure all doors and drawers operate smoothly and the china cabinet is ready for everyday use.
