This 1970s Lane Furniture armoire is a bold example of American mid century modern Brutalist design, finished in richly patterned burl wood veneer that delivers strong visual impact from every angle. The symmetrical façade and blocky proportions are hallmarks of the era, while the warm burl grain adds depth and movement, making this armoire both sculptural and functional. It pairs seamlessly with other pieces from Lane’s burl collection, yet stands confidently on its own as a statement storage piece.

Behind the full-height doors, the armoire offers a thoughtfully designed interior with divided vertical compartments and a wide interior drawer, providing versatile storage for clothing, linens, or media. Below, the lower section features additional drawers that mirror the exterior burl fronts, maintaining visual continuity while offering generous concealed storage. The solid construction and substantial feel reflect Lane’s reputation for durability and quality craftsmanship during this period.

This armoire is available in two purchase options. The as-pictured option includes professional cleaning and light touch-ups while preserving its vintage character, wear, and patina consistent with age and use. The vintage restored option includes a full cosmetic restoration, addressing the finish and functionality throughout. Both options allow you to choose how much original character or refinement best fits your space.
