This sculptural Mid Century Modern highboy dresser was designed in the 1960s by husband and wife team Helen Hobey Baker. With a commanding presence, the piece features a dramatic silhouette that angles outward at the sides, creating a distinctive architectural profile. Four wide lower drawers sit beneath a recessed upper cabinet with double doors, each adorned with a circular brass medallion pull that adds a decorative focal point. Behind the doors are four gently curved drawers that echo the cabinet’s sculpted aesthetic.
The cabinet’s dimensional profile is paired with a gallery-style base, whose recessed frame and tapered legs give it visual lift. A beautiful example of American mid-century casework, this dresser is finished in warm walnut with bookmatched veneer grain across the drawers and doors. The unique composition and high-functioning layout make this an ideal storage piece for both bedroom or living room spaces.
