This 1960s Drexel Accolade gentleman's highboy dresser is a clean take on campaign style furniture, built in richly figured walnut and trimmed in brass. Brass corner brackets frame the upper case and the base, and the upper front is divided into a pair of tall doors flanking a center column of four drawers, each drawer fitted with a round brass ring pull. Below, two full width drawers carry brass campaign handles, and the case sits on a recessed plinth that keeps the lines tight and architectural.
The upper section is organized the way a gentleman's wardrobe should be. The four center drawers hold watches, cufflinks, and small items, and the doors on either side open to fitted shelving for folded shirts and sweaters, keeping everything visible and stacked in order. The two deep lower drawers take bulkier clothing. The tall, compact footprint suits a bedroom or dressing area where wall space is limited, and the Drexel mark is branded inside a drawer.
This highboy dresser is in vintage as-pictured condition, showing wear consistent with age and use including surface wear, finish inconsistencies, and minor imperfections throughout. These characteristics contribute to the original vintage appeal and authenticity that many collectors appreciate. For those looking for a fully refinished example, we also offer a restored option. Restoration includes a complete professional refinishing process with sanding, staining, glazing, toning, and lacquering, along with functional adjustments to ensure all drawers and doors operate smoothly and the dresser is ready for everyday use.
