This 1960s executive desk, designed by Arne Vodder for HP Hansen, is a fine example of Danish modern design in teak. The top appears to float above the base, with its ends lifting gently upward in a soft winged profile that is a hallmark of Vodder's work. Below, a pedestal of three drawers sits on one side and a deep drawer on the other, each with wooden pulls cut into the teak, and the desk stands on slender tapered legs joined by side stretchers.

The desk is finished on all sides and works just as well floating in the middle of a room as it does against a wall. The back carries an open bookshelf across its length with a cabinet door at one end, so the visitor side offers storage and display of its own. The deep drawer holds files, the smaller drawers keep supplies in order, and an open shelf under the top keeps everyday items within reach.

This desk is in vintage as-pictured condition, showing wear consistent with age and use including surface wear, finish inconsistencies, and minor imperfections throughout. These characteristics contribute to the original vintage appeal and authenticity that many collectors appreciate. For those looking for a fully refinished example, we also offer a restored option. Restoration includes a complete professional refinishing process with sanding, staining, glazing, toning, and lacquering, along with functional adjustments to ensure all drawers and doors operate smoothly and the desk is ready for everyday use. Given its current condition, we recommend the restored option for this piece.
