Step into the world of vintage elegance with our Mid-century Modern lowboy dresser, a fine example of the celebrated craftsmanship from the 1960s. This piece, a creation of the esteemed American of Martinsville, is a blend of classic American MCM and Danish Modern designs, crafted to perfection with rich walnut wood. It features a practical yet stylish design with six spacious drawers, three of which are cleverly concealed behind folding doors. This unique design element adds an air of sophistication and surprise, complemented by round brass knobs on each door panel, subtly infusing an Asian aesthetic into the minimalist design. The remaining three drawers are easily accessible, each fitted with rectangular cut-outs that serve as pulls, a nod to the Danish Modern influence that marked the era.
The dresser's visual appeal is heightened by the thoughtful placement of walnut, showcasing vertical graining on the left half and horizontal graining on the right half, creating a harmonious visual texture. Its minimalist design focuses attention on the natural beauty of the wood, making the dresser a standout piece in any room. Supported by slightly splayed legs and finished with a beautifully crafted stretcher, the dresser exudes a timeless charm. Beyond its stunning appearance, this lowboy dresser offers versatile functionality. It's perfect for various settings, from the bedroom for organizing clothes to the living room or hallway as an elegant storage solution. Built with the robust, enduring quality of classic American craftsmanship, this dresser is more than just a furniture item; it's a durable, stylish investment poised to bring beauty and order to your home for many years to come.

Condition & Restoration
Condition & Restoration
We photograph each piece in its current condition and offer two ways to purchase: as-pictured or restored. This approach gives you a clear and honest view of the item and allows you to choose the level of finish that best suits your needs.
As-Pictured:
Choosing the as-pictured option means you’ll receive the item in its current state with light cleaning and basic touch-ups completed in our warehouse. We ensure that drawers, doors, and structural elements are functional, but no deep refinishing work is performed. This option is ideal for those who appreciate the charm and patina of original vintage finishes, want to avoid additional restoration costs, or prefer a quicker turnaround without the lead time required for refinishing. It's also a great choice if you’re a collector or designer looking to integrate the piece into a space with a lived-in aesthetic.
Restored:
Selecting the restored option includes our full professional refinishing process. Once selected, the piece is transported to our workshop, where we address surface damage like lacquer failure, chips, water marks, and deep scratches. Our team sands, stains, and seals each surface where appropriate, restoring the finish while preserving the character of the original design. We also carefully adjust doors, drawers, and hardware to ensure smooth operation and reliable function. The result is a fully restored vintage furniture piece, ready for daily use and built to last for decades to come.
This dual-option model gives you the flexibility to choose what’s right for your space, style, and timeline—without compromising on quality or transparency.
Note:
Some items may only be available for purchase with restoration included. In these cases, the original condition does not meet our standards for resale without a full professional refinish.
This ensures that every piece we ship—restored or otherwise—meets the level of quality and functionality we stand behind.
Conversely, certain items—such as lighting, upholstered pieces, or otherwise—are only offered as-pictured, as we typically don’t refinish these types of items.
